The mitigation team supports:

  • Updates the State of Colorado Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan
  • Administers the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grant Programs
  • Administers the State Hazard Mitigation Program
  • Chairs the State Hazard Mitigation Team
  • Oversees post-disaster mitigation operations and coordinate mitigation resources
  • Participates on hazard mitigation task forces, councils, and forums
  • Conducts mitigation trainings, workshops, and exercises
  • Promotes local hazard mitigation planning
  • Reviews local hazard mitigation plans
  • Conducts mitigation awareness campaigns
