Colorado businesses and residents Dec. 26 is the deadline to apply for SBA disaster loan for property damage caused by the severe storms, flooding & tornadoes that occurred June 8 – 23 as part of the Rural Area Declaration.
Businesses of all sizes, most private nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters may apply for SBA federal disaster loans to repair or replace disaster damaged property. These low-interest federal disaster loans are available as part of the Rural Area Disaster Declaration the following counties:

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Director Jeffrey Lusk of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West today announced the opening of three Disaster Loan Outreach Centers to meet the needs of businesses and individuals who were affected by severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes that occurred June 8 – 23. The centers will open as indicated below.
FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities Program has identified Greeley’s Gold Hill Pipeline project for further review. This project will reduce the impacts of any hazard that would cause either of Greeley’s water treatment plants to be taken offline, such as drought, wildfire, or cyberattack.

Seeking Public Comment on the Development of a Draft Environmental Assessment for the Chaffee County Public Safety and Emergency Medical Services Building Project, Buena Vista, Chaffee County, Colorado
Colorado Communities have the opportunity to fund shovel-ready and cost-effective mitigation projects through FEMA’s FY2024 Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) Program. Governments with a FEMA-approved hazard mitigation plan may request funding for projects eligible under FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs. Please reach out to the offices of Senator Bennet, Senator Hickenlooper, and your Congressional Representative to make the initial request. If your project is selected, you will formally apply through DHSEM to FEMA in early 2024.

The Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management mitigation planning team had a busy summer. Several counties and local jurisdictions completed their Hazard Mitigation Plan updates and received FEMA approval. This means that the counties will continue to be eligible for FEMA's mitigation grant programs and build resilience within their communities.
